THE SET
The Obelisk Seven XL is a solid tungsten carbide trimmer built for serious work at the wheel. The Seven profile is the workhorse of the collection: its open hook geometry gives access to deep foot rings and steep interior walls where closed profiles can't reach. At this larger scale, it covers more ground per pass, ideal for bigger forms where the standard Seven would mean more passes to clear the same surface. It removes clay aggressively on the pull and refines cleanly on the return. Once you calibrate the angle of attack, there is nothing faster for defining a foot ring from scratch.

About
Varadero Studio is a one-person practice based in Barcelona, working at the intersection of digital fabrication and studio ceramics.
The Obelisk Series came from a simple frustration: the tools available didn't match the standards I held for my own work. So I designed them. Tungsten carbide tips, carbon-fiber-reinforced handles, a hexagonal profile that stays where you put it.
Every tool is wheel-tested before it goes on sale and assembled by hand.
I also make ceramics. Utilitarian and decorative, thrown on the same wheel I use to test every trimmer. The two practices inform each other in ways that are difficult to explain and easy to see in the work.
